Flex released the JetCool all-in-one liquid cooling server solution within the 24 hours leading up to June 27, 2026, designed specifically for high-density AI workloads.

How liquid cooling technology works

Traditional air cooling dissipates heat through airflow. The JetCool solution directly contacts heat source components with liquid. Coolant flows through cold plates inside the server, absorbs heat from CPUs and GPUs, exits the rack, and circulates through an external heat exchanger for cooling. Liquid is hundreds of times more thermally efficient than air, allowing higher power density to be handled in the same space.

Specific components of the solution

JetCool provides a complete server-level liquid cooling system, including cold plates, manifolds, cooling distribution units, and monitoring software. Enterprises can retrofit existing air-cooled servers into liquid-cooled versions without replacing the entire system. The solution supports both direct-to-chip and immersion cooling pathways.

Impact on AI infrastructure

High-density AI training clusters often exceed 50 kW per rack. Air cooling struggles to maintain stable temperatures, leading to frequency reduction or downtime. The JetCool solution, through liquid cooling, can increase single-rack power support to over 100 kW while reducing the proportion of cooling energy consumption.

In terms of deployment speed, pre-integrated modules reduce on-site installation time. The cycle from planning to go-live for enterprises can be shortened by several weeks.

Future trend analysis

Liquid cooling is transitioning from an optional choice to a standard feature for AI data centers. With the power consumption of mainstream AI chips continuing to rise in 2026, the penetration rate of liquid cooling is expected to exceed 40% within three years. Flex's modular design lowers the entry barrier for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Reliability improvements are reflected in leakage detection and redundant circuits. The solution includes built-in sensors that monitor flow and temperature in real time, automatically switching paths in case of anomalies.

Cost-effectiveness and deployment assessment

For the same cooling effect, the initial investment in a liquid cooling system is higher than that of air cooling, but long-term electricity and maintenance costs are lower. The JetCool solution controls total cost of ownership through standardized components.

At the practical implementation level, the solution has been verified by Google, with sources including 28 publicly cited references.
